10. THE SECOND CITY
The Second City. The Windy City. The City of Broad Shoulders. Chi-Town. By any name, Chicago is our home base, and we’re excited to share it with you! There’s no shortage of food, drink, sights to see or places to go, so plan a little time to explore while you’re in town. Stop by and see us at Booth 1845 for some suggestions, or check out one of the numerous articles on why Chicago is the best city in the world.
9. 3D PRINTING AND INNOVATION
HIMSS is always coming up with new exhibitions to keep people’s energy up. The Intelligent Health™ Pavilion demonstrates the future of healthcare technology. From 3D Printing to BYOD patients, we’re looking forward to hearing insights on how new technologies are transforming healthcare.
8. WORLD LEADERS
Regardless of your political views, it’s always impressive to see a world leader speak. It’s also an impressive reminder that in his presidency, President George W. Bush created the ONC. Has it really been so long that we’ve had a government post focused on HIT? We hope President Bush shares a reflection on the changes since his terms in office as well as some commentary on the future.
7. THE AFTER-HOURS EVENTS
It wouldn’t be HIMSS without something fun to do in the evenings! On Tuesday, we’ll let the pins fall where they may as we host our friends and clients for a fun evening of bocce and bowling. We’d love to get to know you over a game. Stop by our booth on Monday or Tuesday or send us a note to get the details and then put your game shoes on!
6. LEARNING SOMETHING NEW
There are over 200 Live Sessions, eSessions, On-Demand Sessions and Poster Sessions this year! Analytics, big data, business intelligence, and informatics are very hot topics at the education sessions this year, and they are near and dear to our hearts. Search by topic on the HIMSS website. We’d love to discuss the sessions and your own experiences! Stop by our booth and share your thoughts.
5. HIMSS ROUNDTABLE SESSIONS
Take the opportunity to discuss current healthcare topics with industry leaders and your peers at the HIMSS roundtable sessions. We’re especially excited to join the conversations about Analytics and Big Data.

4. PRIZES
Who doesn’t want to win a great prize? We’ll be hosting a series of focused presentations in our booth, highlighting some of the innovative and impactful work we’ve done with our customers. We’d love to share our experiences in analytics, strategic leadership, and data governance with you, so check our schedule that will be posted in the booth! We’d also love to send you home with a sweet raffle prize, so be sure to bring your business cards. We promise, it will be much better than a ribbon.
3. LAKE MICHIGAN
McCormick Place is the largest convention center in North America (at 2,670,000 square feet!) and is located just west of Lake Michigan’s shore. Need a place for a meeting? Get outside and have a walking meeting on the Lakefront Trail!
2. NOT JUST MICHIGAN AVENUE
Yes, Michigan Avenue is home to 13 blocks (that’s 1.3 miles!) of shopping, dining and entertainment. But if you’re looking for a break from the conference and hoping to go home with a little something special, consider checking out some different Chicago
neighborhoods for equally great shopping. The Armitage & Halsted Corridor in Lincoln Park is home to many designers and boutiques you won’t find on the Mile. Start at the corner of Armitage & Sheffield (at the Brown line stop), head east on Armitage to Halsted, then wander north up Halsted to Webster. Bonus, you’ll also find plenty to eat – from tapas at Café Ba-Ba-Reeba to donuts at Glazed and Infused, there’s something for every craving!
1. WE’LL MEET YOU AT BASE CAMP!
The number one thing we’re looking forward to at HIMSS15 this year? Meeting you, of course! We hope the spring temperatures continue to rise in Chicago, to make our snowy mountain booth (Booth 1845) feel even more inviting. We’re excited to describe our work and show you some of our favorite applications; we’ve got an “a-moose-ing” booth feature or two to share, as well.
