As a 100% remote company with team members spread from the east to west coast, we truly value the time that we get to spend face-to-face. Three times a year we gather in locations across the country to share recent successes, challenges, set goals for the next quarter, brainstorm and build relationships. Over the past couple of years, we have developed a tradition of focusing on connections and team building during our warm weather, August summits. Last year we traveled to beautiful Estes Park, Colorado to honor our company’s name by hiking to the top of mountains and introduce our individual families to our work families. 

This year, we were able to stay close to a large city (and airport!) and still experience an outdoor paradise at Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation.  Max McGraw was made to be enjoyed in the summer, you could almost believe we were back in Estes Park, with the huge pine trees and fire pits! The Foundation sits on 1,250 acres of hardwoods, prairies, lakes, gravel pits and streams, just outside of the city of Chicago. Some of us learned a new skill, while others showed off their prowess in clay shooting, fishing and archery. Who knew fly fishing didn’t require waders?! Over 15 people learned how to fly fish for the first time and 3 even caught a fish.

  

In between the fun activities, we brainstormed ways to continue to follow our core values of ‘do great work’, ‘move mountains’ and helping the nation’s leading healthcare organizations do more with their data to make healthcare smarter.  One such inspirational presentation was about a hospital organization trying to improve their care of the sickest pediatric patients in the cardiac unit.  We partnered with their sedation workgroup to create an application to proactive identify and treat this population.  It is presentations like these that truly remind us of why we do what we do. Data is powerful and putting actionable data in the hands of the people that can change lives is truly ‘moving mountains’. 

At Prominence, we have grown a culture that values the people that work here. We love the flexibility of being able to work from cities across the country, communicating using the latest in technology. The time we spend in person allows us to re-charge and remind us of all the amazing things that we are accomplishing across the company!
