At Prominence Advisors, “Do Great Work” is not just a guiding principle for our professional endeavors; it extends beyond our industry and into our communities. Each year, our team can take a day to step away from their usual roles to contribute positively to the communities that support us. This initiative embodies our commitment to making a difference and our belief in the power of community service. Today, we are thrilled to highlight Chris Garven’s recent community service day at Horsemanship Bible Camp.
Horsemanship Bible Camp is a local church organization in Chris’s community that has been hosting an annual horse camp for over ten years. This incredible initiative reaches over one hundred children from diverse backgrounds, providing them with a week of learning about horses and religion. This year, 162 children participated, experiencing fellowship through their faith and the joy of working with horses. As a non-profit, the camp often covers the cost for children from low-income homes, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to join.
Chris has been volunteering with Horsemanship Bible Camp for three years, serving as a small group leader and horse instructor. During the camp, Chris is responsible for a small group of boys, ensuring their safety, timeliness, and well-being. Throughout the day, Chris teaches various small groups about horse care and riding, sharing his passion and knowledge with the kids.
This year, Chris took on an additional responsibility: organizing the small group leaders. He ensured that there were enough leaders to oversee the 162 kids, a task that required careful planning and coordination. Chris’s dedication and leadership were instrumental in making the camp a success.
Beyond his community service, Chris is a valued member of our team. He is also deeply involved in his local community as the head soccer coach and referee for the Waynesville Dragons OMFS, a local soccer club. Chris has been coaching for over five years, imparting valuable life skills and fostering a love for the sport in young athletes.
We are incredibly proud of Chris and his commitment to giving back. His dedication to Horsemanship Bible Camp and his local soccer club exemplifies the values we hold dear. Thank you, Chris, for your hard work, compassion, and leadership.
